Throwback Thursday: Ancient buried cypress unearthed

Krantz Recovered Woods obtained a treasure-trove of extremely rare cypress trees from under the swamps of Louisiana, USA.

These cypress trees were accidentally discovered by an excavation team. They were buried deep in the soil, unhindered by the weather and other natural factors for untold years, some carbon dating as far back as 400 BC.

Based at its facility in Austin, Texas, Krantz Recovered Woods is a specialty lumber company which markets, sells, manufactures, and ships its virgin growth cypress and longleaf pine products direct to the public. Their history with cypress goes back three generations to the early 1920s.
