The Institute for Timber Construction South Africa (ITC-SA) will host a conference at Interbuild Africa on 16 August 2018.

The ITC-SA’s conference at Interbuild Africa will feature Werner Slabbert Jnr of Eco Log Homes who will present on timber frame building, as well as Abe Spears of South African Technical Auditing Services (SATAS) will present on grading of timber. The South African Wood Preservers Association’s (SAWPA) Bruce Breedt will focus on timber treatment, while Willie Conradie of Timberlife will talk about surface coatings.

Accredited by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA), the ITC-SA is a professional body for the timber industry with a mission to create and maintain standards in the timber construction sector. In light of this, the ITC-SA is committed to hosting information-sharing events such as workshops, training sessions and presentations, which help to inform both the industry and public.

“We are delighted to be hosting these technical speakers at our very own ‘mini conference’ taking place at Interbuild Africa and look forward to sharing insights and information about timber as a construction material,” says Amanda Obbes, ITC-SA general manager.

Interbuild Africa 2018 will take place from 15 to 18 August at the Johannesburg Expo Centre in Nasrec, Johannesburg.
