WoodEX for Africa, Africa’s premier timber trade expo, will be back at Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand from 09 to 11 June 2020 to present the ultimate machinery, tools and supplies gathering in Africa.
Long established as the gateway to Africa’s timber trade, WoodEX for Africa will again be held alongside the second edition of the Deck & Flooring Expo and will, for the first time, be co-located with Africa’s must-attend construction expo, the African Construction Expo.
Stephan Jooste, director of WoodEX for Africa, says the African Construction Expo is a perfect fit for WoodEX for Africa. “African Construction Expo is Africa’s largest gathering of buyers and sellers that represent the entire built environment value chain. We are extremely proud to present WoodEX for Africa, which is firmly established as the continent’s leading timber industry showcase, at the same time and location as African Construction Expo. We believe this partnership will offer our exhibitors and visitors an ideal platform to do business, network and learn.”
WoodEX for Africa has consistently grown since the inaugural event held in 2012, and the 2018 event, held alongside the inaugural Deck & Flooring Expo, showed a huge growth in exhibitors and brands on show compared to 2016. “With African Construction Expo’s 44 participating countries, more than 250 leading exhibition brands and more than 9 000 visitors sharing the stage with WoodEX for Africa’s 30 participating countries, 120 leading exhibition brands and more than 3 000 visitors, the stage is set for an excellent event in 2020. The aim is to attract more than 10 000 visitors and more than 300 exhibitors,” says Jooste.
African Construction Expo offers access to the most innovative building materials and technologies in Africa. The expo provides workshops, trainings, demonstrations and other interactive features that facilitate commercial networking opportunities and drive private and public sector collaboration.
Devi Paulson, vice president of dmg events, says “We are very excited about the co-location of Woodex Africa with African Construction Expo next year. Not only will it see two large scale events collaborating to create an exceptional experience of value for our attendees, but it also allows us to create a platform that allows for more engagement and solid business opportunities across a wider range of sectors. This means visitors and exhibitors are able to save time and effortlessly conduct more business over the three days than ever before.”
Together the expos offer added exposure for exhibitors and visitors in the various industries – from machinery, tools and equipment, fits and finishes, components, new technology and materials to concrete and cement, surfaces and finishes, digital construction and construction.
